Dr. Thomas P. Murphy, D.D.S.

Dr. Thomas Murphy was born in Kansas City, Missouri and raised in Canfield, Ohio. He earned his D.D.S. degree in 1983 from Loyola University in Illinois and completed his Oral and Maxillofacial residency at MetroHealth Medical Center. Dr. Murphy is board certified through the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
He has been in private practice since 1988. Dr. Murphy previously held a teaching position at MetroHealth Medical Center and was the former section chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Fairview General Hospital.
Dr. Murphy is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is fellow member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), International College of Dentists, and American Society of Dental Anesthesia. In addition to being the past president of the Ohio Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (OSOMS), he belongs to the Great Lakes Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Pierre Fauchard Academy (Honorary Dental Society). Dr. Murphy obtained his license from the Ohio State Dental Board for General Anesthesia during his residency at MetroHealth Medical Center. He has received the award for Top Dentists several times throughout his career among other awards.
His current interests include advanced implant and bone grafting reconstruction through CAT scan and Cone Beam Technology, as well as Teeth in a Day*, and Teeth in an Hour*.
Dr. Murphy enjoys skiing, hiking, golfing, and playing basketball. He is an avid cook who enjoys collecting fine wine and pairing them with gourmet foods. He also supports various local animal shelters, homeless shelters, and food banks.
